Went in after seeing all of the reviews and can say this was a rare case of the food living up to expectations. No frills Mexican restaurant that takes pride in their food. Right away you can tell the difference in quality of ingredients especially with any tacos that include beef. This is going to be my go to spot in an area filled with great Mexican food options.

Drove in town from Evansville, IN to see a concert tonight at the Metro and my friend and I decided to stop by here for some mexican eats. Was so surprised to not see anyone else here! The food was INCREDIBLE, I am sitting here absolutely stuffed lol. The quesabirria was cry-worth good. This is gonna be one of my go-to spots from here on out anytime I'm in the area! 3

Amazing experience at AKAY Tacos. From the moment you arrive, the atmosphere is warm and authentic. The tacos are outstanding: freshly made tortillas, fresh ingredients, and flavor combinations that truly stand out. We tried the birria and al pastor tacos—both were delicious! The staff’s service was excellent, very friendly and attentive to every detail. Definitely a place to come back to again and again if you want to enjoy authentic Mexican food. Highly recommended!

Came across this place on a whim and so glad I did! Chips and salsa brought to the table and the salsa was great. Ordered the taco dinner (carne asada, al pastor and barbacoa) and it came with rice and beans. Ate the first taco and thought, wow this is delicious! Then ate the next one, wow this is fantastic and then the 3rd was amazing! Rice and beans had so much flavor and salsa verde and rojo were equally tasty. Probably the best tacos I’ve had in the city, will be back again! A must try (& appears family owned!!)

Absolutely phenomenal! If you want authentic flavors and service, go here. I moved out of Chicago last year and have been in search for an authentic taco establishment. This is definitely the place. Fresh guacamole with great flavors and texture. Got to taste all their different meats with different tacos and burritos, and all were flavorful and delicious. On the night I ordered, the internet went down and they called me personally reconfirming my order for delivery, and even gave a free dessert for the trouble. Top notch customer service, and super nice employees. We have found our taco place.

Our favorite authentic Mexican restaurant in the area. Delicious, fresh, and inexpensive. The family that runs the place is also super lovely and often throws in a tasty freebie at the end of the meal!

This place was awesome! Just happened upon it today and had the best experience! The owner served us and couldn't have been nicer. Our food came out quickly and it was DELICIOUS. A lot of care is clearly put into the food that they serve. We also got the flan that the owner's wife makes in-house daily. Could not recommend this place more highly. We will definitely be coming back
